THIS IS NOT AN EXACT SCIENCE AND NO ONE CAN PREDICT THE ADULT SIZE OF A PUPPY!
I AGREE THAT ONE CAN SEE IF A DOG WILL BE ON THE SMALL SIZE OR ON THE LARGE SIZE BUT TO MAKE PROMISES OF ALMOST EXACT WEIGHTS ETC. IS MISLEADING!
TIPS ON PURCHASING YOUR YORKIE PUPPY
* Do your homework and search for a reputable breeder don't be hasty when making your choice.
* Watch out for breeders always bad mouthing other breeders look for breeders who are more concerned with improving their
own breeding than knocking others.
* Insist on collecting your puppy from the breeders home and avoid meeting them in shopping malls. WHY CAN'T YOU GO
TO THEIR HOMES?
* It's your right to see where your puppy was bred and raised and what the parents look like.
* Make sure you are purchasing a puppy that has been well socialised and not raised in a cage or container.
* A puppy that cowers down and appears scared is not well socialised.
* Make sure your puppy has been inoculated by a registered vet insist on a signed inoculation booklet from the vet. If you travel with your pet it will need a passport signed by a qualified vet and not by the breeder. It is not illegal for breeders to inoculate themselves but it carries no weight when you cross the borders a quaified vet's signature is needed. Besides this if the breeder is inoculating you need to determine whether the puppy has been checked by a vet for other possible defects.
* Check the puppy has nice pink gums as pale gums are an indication of the puppy being unwell and more than likely has a
worm infestation.
* The puppy should also have nice clear eyes that are not full of muck.
* Once you receive your puppy take it to your vet within 24 hours so it can be checked over for heart murmurs, worm
infestations etc. The onus lies on you to make sure you have purchased a healthy puppy if not you can demand a refund as
long as it is done within 24 hours of purchase.
* If you don't take your yorkie to a vet for regular check ups and for all the necessary inoculations don't blame the breeder
when something goes wrong unless a genetic defect can be PROVEN.
